DEVELOPMENT OF GAME ON MOBILE APPLICATIONS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF LANGUAGE AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS IN AUTISTIC CHILDREN

The purposes of this research were to develop game on mobile applications for the development of language and communication skills in autistic children and to study the results of using game on mobile apps for developing language and communication skills in autistic children. The sample group were 8 autistic children currently studying in the Special Education Center, Faculty of Education, Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Rajabhat University, aged 5 - 8 years studying in the 2nd semester, academic year 2018 who acquired by specific selection method based on the specified features. The tools used in this research consisted of 1) game on mobile applications for autistic children, 2) behavior observation record form, and 3) satisfaction questionnaire. The statistics used in the research were percentage, mean and standard deviation. The results of the research showed that 1) the quality and performance of the game on the mobile applications that the researcher developed for the overall of quality was the highest level, the overall of technical performance was the highest level, and the overall of design quality was the highest level and 2) the eight autistic children had a speaking skill Growth rate ranging from 2.67-15.67 and the mentors of an autistic child were satisfied with the game on the mobile applications at a high level. It concludes that it can be used as a learning material to improve language and communication skills in autistic children.
