Perception of universal design, adaptation, resilience, and quality of life of the elderly at happy center for all age in Bangkok

The purposes of this study were to as following: 1) to study level of perception of universal design, adaptation, resilience and the quality of life of the elderly 2) to compare quality of life of the elderly by their different personal factors, 3) to study the relationship between perception of universal design, adaptation, resilience and quality of life of the elderly, and 4) to study the influence of perception of universal design, adaptation, and resilience on quality of life of the elderly. The samples were 330 elderlies from Happy Center for All Age in Bangkok, selected by stratified random sampling. All data was collected by questionnaires with had Index of item objective congruence (IOC) for each item .66-1.00 including personal factors questionnaires, perception of universal design questionnaires (α =.897), adaptation questionnaires (α = .856), resilience questionnaires (α =.925) and quality of life questionnaires (α =.913). Statistical methods were percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, F-test, LSD (Least Significant Difference), Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient and Multiple Linear Regression. The results of this research were: 1) perception of universal design, adaptation, resilience and quality of life of the elderly were at the high level, 2) the elderly with different in sex, level of education and marriage status had differences in quality of life of the elderly with the statistical differences at .05 and .01 3) perception of universal design was positively correlated to quality of life of the elderly with the statistical differences at .01 (r = .181), adaptation was positively correlated to quality of life of the elderly with the statistical differences at .01 (r = .617) and resilience was positively correlated to quality of life of the elderly with the statistical differences at .01 (r = .704), and 4) perception of universal design, adaptation and resilience could jointly predict quality of life of the elderly by 54.1 percent.
