Inheritance of Lao Wiang Wisdom in Weaving by Information Technology

Abstract

The purpose of this research article is to study the local wisdom of hand weaving and to study the learning behavior based on the students’ principles of success (Iddipada 4). It is a quasi - experimental research and randomly pick students from 2 junior high schools (Mathayomsuksa 1-3), 15 students from each school. The course focuses on how to preserve the local hand weaving and is structured for 40-hour learning. The result of the research has found that the hand weaving from the local wisdom has a special technique and uniqueness, also the most ancient design are well preserved, particularly by the elderly people. Thus it is very important to preserve the local wisdom by persuading the student to get the training on how to do the local hand weaving in the course that has been set up. It makes the students learn and understand and be capable to do the local hand weaving based on principles of success (Iddipada 4) which are Chanda : having heart of zeal, Viriya: doing with effort, Citta: committing oneself to the task, Vimansa: using wise investigation
