OPERATIONAL EFFECTIVENESS OF MAHAMAKUT BUDDHIST UNIVERSITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH MISSION STATEMENTS

Abstract

This research aims to study the level of the operational effectiveness of Mahamakut Buddhist University, to analyze the factors influence the operational effectiveness, to identify the problems and obstacles in the perspective of operational administration, and to examine the suitable choices to achieve the operation effectiveness. This study utilized both quantitative and qualitative research methods. The populations were 1,111 of administrators, lecturers, officers and permanent workers of Mahamakut Buddhist University. The populations came from 11 campuses of Mahamakut Buddhist University. The questionnaire was used to gather the data with 294 samplings. There were 25 samplings that had an in-depth interview. The purposive sampling was employed. The statistical which are Frequency, Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation and Stepwise Multiple Regression were utilized to determine the research finding. The research results indicate that overall, the respondents give a high priority level to the six aspects of the mission statements which are philosophy, mission, objectives, the activities for developing students, preservation of art and culture, and system and mechanism of quality assurance; followed by education framework aspect, research aspect and academic services to community aspect respectively; in the meantime, administration and management, and finance and budgeting aspect are in average level. Most of quantitative and qualitative research results are correlated that the proper directions will lead Mahamakut Buddhist University to achieve the operational effectiveness in all 9 aspects of the internal quality assurance.
