THE DESIGN OF ACTIVITY SETS FOR BEHAVIORAL SPIRITUAL WELLBEING ENHANCEMENT AMONG ENTREPRENEURS IN SERVICE AND TOURISM INDUSTRIES

Abstract

       This study aimed to analyze and design activity sets for enhancing spiritual wellbeing and to compare behavioral spiritual wellbeing outcomes. A quasi-experimental research methodology was employed. The population and sample consisted of workers in the service and tourism industries. Research instruments included questionnaires and a manual for implementing spiritual wellbeing enhancement activity sets. The research instrument quality demonstrated a reliability coefficient of .829. Post-experimental data were collected by the researchers and analyzed using descriptive statistics and content analysis.


            The study findings revealed three main aspects: First, the spiritual wellbeing enhancement practice activity sets comprised 1. reverence for sacred entities, 2. merit-making and sharing activities, 3. social benefit activities, 4. understanding life's truths, 5. maintaining family relationships, 6. maintaining good physical health, 7. having clear life goals, 8. perceiving life satisfaction, 9. regulating emotions and feelings, and 10. letting go with neutral mindfulness. The group with foundational experience in lecture-based activities demonstrated lower spiritual wellbeing compared to the practice-based group. Second, the meanings of spiritual wellbeing encompassed 1. good living and happiness, 2. mental strength, 3. goal achievement in work, 4. life satisfaction, 5. meaning in life, 6. emotional wellbeing, 7. wisdom wellbeing, 8. optimistic worldview, and 9. sense of community belonging. Third, regarding spiritual wellbeing outcomes, the lecture-based group exhibited lower spiritual wellbeing levels compared to the practice-based group.
