Training Needs Assessment of Registered Nurses for Developing Children with Neurodevelopmental Disorders Using Yoga

Abstract
The purposes of this research were (1) to assess training needs, (2) to comparison the training needs between the registered nurses who working for the hospitals with different sizes. A sample of 186 registered nurses using stratified random sampling method. Data were collected by using questionnaires. Statistics including percentage, mean, standard deviation, modified priority needs index (PNI Modified), t-test, and ANOVA used for data analysis. The results of the study were as follows: (1) There was a statistically significant difference at level of 0.01 between the actual and the expected proficiency level of all areas. All area of the actual proficiency has lower average more than the expected proficiency level. The first priority of training needs are (1) Ability on nursing care quality control for children with neurodevelopmental disorders, and (2) knowledge on basic yoga and applied yoga for children with neurodevelopmental disorders. (2) The training needs on knowledge, and ability on nursing care for children with neurodevelopmental disorders using Yoga and knowledge on foundation of physical and mental on children with neurodevelopmental disorders using Yoga between the registered nurses who working for the hospitals with different sizes was significantly different (p <0.05, 0.01).
