Properties of Coated Para Rubber Shell Used as Green Aggregate and Modified Zeolite Paste
Main Article Content
Abstract
Numerous of waste from agricultural industries can be use as lightweight aggregate and cementitious materials in concrete. This research was investigated properties of coated para rubber shell aggregate (CPRSA) were used as aggregate blended natural or modified zeolite (MZ) in concrete. Properties of CPRSA were determined containing in shape analysis, specific gravity, loose and densed density, water absorption. MZ was modified with heat at temperature of 750°C. and 800°C. for 2 hr. They were substituted for ordinary Portland cement. Type I in the proportion of 15, 20 and 25%wt. Experimental results indicated paste behaviors on setting time increased and hydration temperature decreased according to MZ increased. Mineral phases and structural difference was not significant after heat at 800°C. CPRSA of this study can be potentially used to a green lightweight aggregate.
