The Development of Multimedia to Enhance Self-Care for Elderly Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University Silver Wellness Center

Abstract

The purposes of the research were to 1) to development of multimedia to enhance self-care for elderly, 2) Study the quality of multimedia that promotes self-care potential of the elderly, 3) Study the satisfaction of the elderly towards multimedia that promotes the potential of self-care of the elderly, and 4) Study the acceptance of technology by the elderly towards multimedia that promotes the potential of self-care of the elderly. The sample group consisted of 30 elderly people who used the services at the Elderly Health Promotion and Development Center, Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University, using the cluster random sampling method. The research has 3 phases: Phase 1: Model development; Phase 2: Model validation; Phase 3: Model use. Content about Detoxification by Using Herbs. Data collected by questionnaire. Data analysis used mean, percentage, and standard deviation. The research results found that 1) the development of multimedia that promotes self-care potential of the elderly includes herbal compresses, herbal steaming, herbal soaking, and herbal bathing, 2) The study of the quality of multimedia media that promotes the potential for self-care of the elderly has the highest quality (equation = 4.53), 3) The elderly have the highest level of satisfaction ( equation= 4.56), 4) The study of the acceptance of technology by the elderly is at the highest level ( equation= 4.61). This shows that multimedia can promote self-care potential among the elderly. The researcher therefore proposes that relevant agencies develop multimedia in other matters. For example, physical therapy for the elderly to promote the elderly's self-care potential.
