Satisfaction of the People Toward Watching News Program in Bahasa Melayu of the Television of Thailand, Yala

Abstract

The news program in Bahasa Melayu of Television Thailand, Yala, Thailand was first broadcast on July 1, 1997. This study was conducted to survey the feedback of the people in southern most provinces of Thailand including Yala, Pattani and Narathiwat who watched the news program of the Television of Thailand, Yala. In Bahasa Melayu. Four hundred participants were selected for this study. There were one hundred and four in Yala, one hundred and thirty in Pattani and one hundred and sixty in Narathiwat. For data collection purpose of this study, SPSS 14.00, t test and F test were used. The result showed that the overall degree of the satisfaction towards watching news program in Bahasa Melayu of the Television of Thailand, Yala. Was average (mean 3.53 + 0.46). The factors related to the participants’ satisfaction towards the news in Bahasa Melayu on the Television of Thailand, Yala. Based on to their gender, age, level of education, frequency and benefit to broadcasting. It can be concluded that the people in this three provinces either satisfy or not satisfy to the news program. In order to improve the satisfaction to the viewers the Television of Thailand, Yala. The responsible personal should develop such program according to the needs of the people in these three provinces.
