Strategic development plan Municipality Local residents' needs

Abstract

The Conduct of the strategic plan to develop the municipality, information of residents' needs is required. Therefore, the objectives of this study were to analyze needs of people for the development of Banpru Municipality according to their personal factors, role factors, area factors, and migration factors, and to analyze the accordance between the strategic development plan of Banpru Municipality and the residents' needs. The subjects of this survey research were 378 residents. Percentage, mean and standard deviation were used in analyzing the levels of residents' needs; t-test, independent groups; one-way Anova were used in comparing the residents' needs for the strategic development plan of Banpru Municipality according to their personal factors, role factors, area factors, and migration factors; and Cohen's Kappa was used in analyzing the accordance between the strategies set by the municipality and residents' needs. The results of the study revealed that most residents needed strategies for promoting and developing education, sports, religions, art and culture, traditions and local wisdom, which were ranked first. The analysis of the differences in the needs of the residents for developing Banpru Municipality at statistical significance of not over 0.05 showed that the factors with differences at statistical significance of not over 0.05 were age, main occupation, and community. The analysis of the accordance between the strategies set by the municipality and residents' needs revealed that the needs were in accordance in the strategies for developing economy and occupations but as a whole, according to Kappa's accordance, there was no accordance between the strategies set by Banpru Municipality and residents' needs. Therefore, there should be improvement of the strategic plan to satisfy residents' needs in the same direction.
