Economic Returns of Rubber Farmers And Non-Peaceful Event in Three Southern Border Provinces

Abstract

 The problem from non-peaceful event in three southern border provinces is affected obviously economic depression. The main purpose of this study is to compare economic returns and living of life of rubber farmers between before and when non-peaceful event in three southern border provinces. The survey of 19 Amphurs in three southern border provinces is used to collect data. The target group is 990 rubber farmers in Narathiwat Pattani and Yala. The instrument is the questionnaire that had pretested and high reliability. The questionnaire had 43 questions and 5 parts. Five parts are consisted general information, economic returns, living of life between before and when had non-peaceful event. The data is analyzed by SPSS for Windows. The results showed that the rubber farmers in three southern border provinces had dairy income from rubber before non-peaceful event has value 1,197 bahts. But when non-peaceful event, the income from rubber has value 952 bahts dairy. On the other hand the living of life in security domain in life and asset before non-peaceful event has mean value (X) 3.56. When non-peaceful event has the mean value (X) 2.16. The comparison of rubber business resulted between before and after the brain storming meeting of 3 groups (rubber farmers academic staff and government's official) at Ban Budee in Yala province in order to increase the economic returns in non-peaceful event, it was found that the major problem is the decreasing of quantity the rubber tap day. Also the evidenced had changed from the rib rubber to the cup rubber. Moreover it was found that the rubber local price was cheaper than the market prices causing them has decrease their income. The methods from the brain storming ideas showed that the rubber farmers should improve the quality of rubber like as dry, clean, and no contamination in rubber. Also they should set up the rubber trading center of village in order to up price and direct sell to the rubber factory. The evaluation on the rubber farmers practiced per suggestion it indicated that the rubber quality and rubber price was improved 92 % and 87.5 % respectively. Therefore, it can be concluded that rubber farmers in three southern border provinces has great need for the coordinate in paorder to solve the problem from the corporate and community.
