The Measurement of the Acetone and H2O2 Gas Response of Ceramics and Application for Gas Switch Device
Main Article Content
Abstract
This research involved sample preparation of Bi2O3+Fe2O3 from starting materials in powder form using standard ceramic techniques and then and the acetone and H2O2 gas response were measured, respectively. Both samples were applied as gas switch device. Instruments for sample testing composed of LP connector, DAQ Card and LabVIEW were prepared. When the Bi2O3+Fe2O3 sample was tested in the presence of acetone gas, voltage increased in the interval of 3.97 V – 3.45 V. Gas responsivity (G) Was -13.98%. The plus value of G means that resistance increased in the presence of acetone gas. The voltage drop across this sample and setting voltage (4.42 V) was compared for the operation of gas switch device. This compared result can control the operation of relay, solid state relay and gas alam, respectively. When the Bi2O3+Fe2O3 sample was tested in the presence of H2O2 gas, voltage increased in the interval of 1.38 V – 1.275 V. Gas responsivity (G) was -7.6%. The plus value of G means that the resistance increased in the presence of acetone gas. The voltage drop across this sample and setting voltage (3.66 V) was compared for the operation of gas switch device. This compared result can control the operation of relay, solid state relay gas alarm, respectively.
