Research Development: A Possible Approach

Abstract

Country development aimed at independence and international capable of competitiveness for sustainable has many essential components. One of the major components is research, because research can build and advance knowledge that provides approaches and methods to rapidly develop its country, saving the cost and time. One essential component of research is researchers who must be trained to be professionals to sufficiently serve the country’s demand. This article proposes the guides to develop professional researchers. These include 4 aspects involving Thai research and researcher development. The first aspect is a systemic support for researchers in every social sector. The second aspect is appropriate, sufficient and continual funding for research and development. The third is to assign concrete research specifications in order to stimulate personnel to do more research. Finally, research environment and motivation within organizations should be promoted, with relevant supports for researchers and all the way through to appreciation on research outcomes. In addition, quality research database should be managed. However, the approach to develop professional researchers should be focused on real action and post graduate training center must be established. Taken together, these will provide professional researchers for the country.
