The Relationship between the Level of Success Factors and the Level of Success on the Implementation of Good Governance Principles to the Practice of Local Government Administration: A Case Study of the Hatyai City Municipality

Abstract

The objective of this research was to examine: level of success factors of the Implementation of good governance principles of the hatyai city municipality, level of success of the Implementation of good governance principles, and the relationship between the level of success factors and level success of good governance principles of the hatyai city municipality. One hundred and forty samples drawing by purpose selection random sampling about 140 municipality mfficers who have been working at Hatyai City Municipality. The questionnaires was developed by researcher. The results were as follows: The level of success factors of the Implementation of good governance principles was at high level for the total score ( =3.67, S.D.=0.84) and policy, executive and implementers, program activities and assignments, the recruitment, promoting, controlling, evaluation, motivation, incentives and punishment activities and the environment and recipients were at high level with score 3.84, 3.79, 3.73, 3.64 and 3.64 respectively, but availability and characteristics was moderate that had score 3.37. The level of success of the implementation of good governance principles was at high level for the total score ( =3.56, S.D.=0.91) and the rule of law, value for money, participation, transparency, accountability were at high level with score 3.81, 3.76, 3.60, 3.54 and 3.54 respectively, but ethic and integrity was moderate ( =3.15, S.D.=1.08). As for the relationship between the level success factors and the level of success of the Implementation of good governance principles, it was found that the success factor is positively correlated with the level of success in all aspects.
