Associated Factors to Role Performance in Primary Health Care of Village Health Volunteers

Abstract
The performance of village health volunteers may relate to working factors according their role. The purposes of this study were to: 1) determine level of operation based on public health role of village health volunteers 2) determine level of perception of operation based on public health role of village health volunteers and 3) examine factors relating to level of operation based on public health role of village health volunteers. The questionnaires were collected from 353 volunteers. The data were analyzed statistically for percentage and the relations between the role performance and other factors. The results were as follows. The operation based on public health role of the village health volunteers was at high level. The perception of operation based on public health role of the village health volunteers was also high. Personal factor of educational level was related to level of public health service operation significantly (p-value = 0.05). The perception of public health service operation of the village health volunteers was significantly related to personal factor at 0.01 level. The findings revealed that making clear responsive assignment based on the needs of the operational areas together with providing facilities and support in materials, technical and motivation continuously would make public health volunteering in the village more effective.
