The Application of Buddhadhamma to Enhance the Management Efficiency of Sunday Buddhist Study Center in Mueang Lamphun District, under the Promotion of Lamphun Provincial Cultural Office

Abstract

The objectives of this study are: 1) to study the management efficiency level of the Sunday Buddhist Study Center (SBSC) in Mueang Lamphun District, under the promotion of the Lamphun Provincial Cultural Office, 2) to compare students' opinions on its management efficiency, classified by personal factors, and 3) to propose guidelines for enhancing center management efficiency applying with Buddhadhamma. This study was a mixed method using a questionnaire with a reliability value of 0.960. The sample consisted of 320 people, including government teachers. Data were analyzed such as frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation, t- test, F-test and research by means of in-depth interviews with 14 key informants with data were analyzed descriptively.

The results found that :

1) the management efficiency level of the Sunday Buddhist Study Center in Mueang Lamphun District under the promotion of the Lamphun Provincial Cultural Office, overall, was at a high level

2) The results of comparing the opinions level of students towards the efficiency of the center showed that students with different genders, ages, educational backgrounds, and attendance at the Sunday Buddhism Study Center had no different opinions; therefore, the research hypothesis was rejected.

3) Guidelines enhancing management efficiency of the center by applying the 4 Iddhipāda (the basis for success) were; (1) Chanda (will, zeal): teachers have, hearted fully, passion for their work, (2) Viriya (perseverance):  they emphasize teaching based on morality. (3) Citta (active thought): the administrators of the study center care both staff and students. (4) Vimaṁsā (investigation and reasoning): the Sunday Buddhist Study Center makes a teaching.
