Application 0f Buddhadharma Principles to Enhanc the Efficiency of Public Property Services Office of Lamphun Provincial Treasury

Abstract

This research aims to 1) study the state property service efficiency of Lamphun Provincial Treasury Office, 2) compare opinions on its efficiency of service classified by personal factors, and 3 propose the application of Buddhist principles to increase its efficiency of service at the Crown Property Bureau.  This research is mixed-method research: (1) quantitative research using a questionnaire with a reliability of 0.987 from a 136-sample group of officers who are responsible for the use of Crown Property in Mueang Lamphun District, and: (2) qualitative research using in-depth interviews with 12 key informants. The data were analyzed to find frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The hypothesis was tested using a t-test and F-test using a one-way analysis of variance and content analysis.

          The results of the research found that:

          1) The efficiency level of state property service of the Lamphun  Provincial Treasury Office was generally high.

2) The results of the comparative opinions on state property service of Lamphun Treasury Office found that people with different genders, ages, education levels, and work experiences have no other opinions.

3) The guidelines for improving service of Lamphun Treasury Office by applying Sanghaha-vatthu 4 (the four Buddhist Principles for service) for service and its development were as follows; 1) in terms of giving (Danā), the Crown Property officers provides should be service-minded to provide services with willingness, 2) in terms of kindly speech (Piyavāca), they used polite, friendly, and easy-to-understand words in communication, 3)  in terms of rendering service  (Atthacariyā), they helped service recipient, and 4) in terms of even and equal treatment (Samānattatā), their service should be consistent and their common sense remind them to conduct themselves appropriately for their duties.
