Application Of The Principles Of Iddhipatham To Promote The Community Develop-ment Role Of Local Politicians In Khao Kaeo Subdistrict Municipality Chiang Khan Dis-trict Loei Province

Abstract

This research aimed to 1) study the level of community development roles in Khao Kaeo Subdistrict Municipality, 2) compare community development roles in Khao Kaeo Subdistrict Municipality classified by personal factors, and 3) propose the application of the Ithipadham principle to promote the community development roles in Khao Kaeo Subdistrict Municipality, Chiang Khan District, Loei Province, by applying the Ithipadham principle. The research was a mixed-method, quantitative research with a sample of 222 people. The questionnaire had a reliability value of 0.836. The data were analyzed by finding the mean, standard deviation, and t-test and F-test. The qualitative research used in-depth interviews with 9 key informants. The data were analyzed by descriptive method.

          The results of the research found that

          1) The overall level of community development roles in Khao Kaew Subdistrict Municipality, Chiang Khan District, Loei Province, is at a high level.

          2) A comparison of community development roles in Khao Kaew Subdistrict Municipality, Chiang Khan District, Loei Province, classified by individual factors revealed that people of different genders, ages, education levels, and incomes did not differ significantly in their opinions on community development among local politicians in Khao Kaew Subdistrict Municipality, at the 0.05 level. Therefore, the research hypothesis was rejected.

          3) The application of the Ithipatham principle to promote the community development roles of local politicians in Khao Kaew Subdistrict Municipality, Chiang Khan District, Loei Province, based on the Ithipatham principle, revealed: 1) Chanda: Satisfaction and a desire to perform their duties to the fullest extent, demonstrating enthusiasm for serving the public; 2) Viriya: Diligence: Performing duties with sincerity, visiting actual locations to gain insight into real problems; 3) Mind: Working with intelligence, being thoughtful, attentive, and considering tasks, and being meticulous in approving budgets or projects; and 4) Inquiry: Rehearsing and probing personnel performing duties, training subordinates with a friendly attitude, holding follow-up meetings, and providing suggestions to subordinates.
