Leadership Factors According to Buddhist Principles Affecting the Leadership of Female Politicians in Lamphun Province

Abstract

The research aimed to study the leadership factors according to Buddhist principles that affect the leadership of female politicians in Lamphun Province. The sample group consisted of 400 people in Lamphun Province. The instrument had a reliability value of .887. The statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson's product moment correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression. In-depth interviews were conducted with 18 participants, content analysis, and focus group discussions were conducted with 10 participants to confirm the knowledge gained.

          The research results found that:

          The leadership factors according to Buddhist principles that affect the leadership of female politicians in Lamphun Province were found to be at a high level overall. The results of the test of hypothesis 1, at least one personal factor affects the leadership of female politicians in Lamphun Province, found that personal factors in terms of marital status and educational qualifications were associated with the leadership of female politicians in Lamphun Province at a low level overall. The variables of gender, age, occupation, and average monthly income were not associated with the leadership of female politicians in Lamphun Province. Therefore, hypothesis 1 is accepted. And hypothesis 1, the principle of at least one divine abode affects the leadership of female politicians in Lamphun Province. It was found that the main factors of the divine abode, loving-kindness, compassion, and mudita, have a relationship with the leadership of female politicians in Lamphun Province overall at a moderate level. As for equanimity, the relationship with the leadership of female politicians in Lamphun Province overall is at a low level. Therefore, hypothesis 2 is accepted
