Buddhist Methods To Promote Community Strength In The Operations Of The Si Song Rak Subdistrict Administrative Organization Mueang District Loei Province

Abstract

This research aims to 1) Study the level of community strength in the operation of Sri Songrak Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Mueang District, Loei Province.    2) Compare the community strength in the operation of Sri Songrak Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Mueang District, Loei Province, classified by personal factors. 3) Present Buddhist methods to promote community strength in the operation of Sri Songrak Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Mueang District, Loei Province, by applying the Five Precepts. The mixed-method research has a sample of 357 people. The questionnaire has a reliability of 0.879 for the whole questionnaire. The data are analyzed by finding the mean, standard deviation, and t-test. The hypothesis test is F value. The qualitative research uses in-depth interviews with 9 key informants. The data are analyzed by descriptive method..

          The research results revealed that:

1)The strength of the community in the operation of Sri Songrak Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Mueang District, Loei Province, overall, was at a high level.

2)The results of the comparison of the strength of the community in the operation of Sri Songrak Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Mueang District, Loei Province, classified by personal factors, found that people with different genders, ages, education, and incomes had no statistically significant differences in the strength of the community in the operation of Sri Songrak Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Mueang District, Loei Province at a level of 0.05. Therefore, the research hypothesis was rejected.

3)Buddhist methods promote the strength of the community in the operation of Sri Songrak Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Mueang District, Loei Province by applying the principles of the 5 precepts, found that: 1) Abstain from killing animals, organizing activities to release fish; 2) Abstain from stealing, taking things that the owner did not give as their own, donating things to the poor; 3) Abstain from sexual misconduct, creating love and warmth in the family; 4) Abstain from telling lies, organizing activities to train the use of speech; 5) Abstain from drinking alcohol and intoxicants, organizing training activities, going to the temple to listen to Dhamma. The application of the Five Precepts will help create community strength in the operation of Sri Song Rak Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Mueang District, Loei Province.
