Abstract

This article aims to find forms in the creation of a dance: She tells… through choreography process in post-modern dance. This is a creative research that has collected data by use quality research format; documentary survey, interview, media studies, field study, observation, seminar and personal experiences are go through the analysis and synthesize process to creative dance work. It is found that the dance creation can be divided into 7 components: 1) Role is divided into stages according to the growing age, 2) Performers are selected by the study selected from the length of the hair level that must be longer than the shoulder level, 3) Choreography through the concept of simplicity, 4) Costume is one piece costume pattern use flexible materials supporting the movement, 5) Music and sound design uses synthetic sounds that give a sense of beginning to harmonize with the story, 6) Space design is independent of the presentation area, and 7) Light design will not have a significant effect on the display content. The study is evaluated by submitting this performance to the international dance festival and being selected to participate in the 3 International Dance Festivals; 8th SWU International Festival of Arts and Culture 2018, International Dance Festival 2018 and Dance Xchange, The Philippines International Dance Festival which will be the post-modern creative dance’s direction and education benefit for future.
