The Study of Chinese Graduate Students’ Opinions on the Decision to Study at Universities in Thailand

Abstract
This research aimed to study the opinions of Chinese master’s degree students regarding their reasons for choosing to pursue further education at universities in Thailand, as well as to investigate the problems they encountered during their graduate studies. The study employed a qualitative research methodology, collecting data through semi-structured interviews with 30 Chinese students from two universities in Thailand. Content analysis was used to analyze the data. The findings revealed that the main reasons Chinese students chose to study in Thailand included reasonable costs, educational quality, a friendly environment, and professional opportunities in the ASEAN region. The problems identified were related to language barriers, internal university administrative systems, access to academic resources, and difficulties in adapting to different learning systems and cultures. Recommendations from this research emphasize the need to develop support structures for international students, as well as to improve teaching materials and service systems to better accommodate foreign students.
