The Implementation of the Roadside Venders and Small Stall Holders Policy : A Case Study of Bangkapi District Office, Bangkok

Abstract

            This research is about putting policy on roadside vendor and stallholder reforms into effect at the Municipal Office, Bangkapi District Office, Bangkok. Most respondents are between 25-34 years old, married and have a diploma or high vocation certificate. They have 11-15 years of working experience and their monthly income is between 10,000-14,999 baht. The study shows that in terms of personnel related factors, most respondents have interpersonal relations. In the collaborative aspect, they have gained cooperation from officers in the same office. In the operational equipment aspect, they have an adequate amount of radio communication equipment. Their opinions about the Municipal Office, Bangkapi District Office, Bangkok putting policy on roadside vendor and stallholder reforms into effect are high in general. When considered from each aspect, it is in the highest position. When measured from the highest to lowest means, the first three positions are the policy aspect, the law aspect and the collaborative aspect, respectively. When comparing the differences in their opinions about the Municipal Office, Bangkapi District Office, Bangkok putting policy on roadside vendor and stallholder reforms into effect, according to personal factors such as age, marital status, educational level, monthly income and work experience, the results in general are not different. The difference is statistically significant at 0.05 level.

             When compared their opinions on turning the Municipal Office, Bangkapi District Office, Bangkok’s policy on roadside vendor and stallholder reforms into practice, according to work related factors in personnel, cooperative and operational equipment aspects, the results are low and statistically significant (p<0.01).
