Guidelines for Educational Administration Achievements of Buddhist Oriented Schools in Bangkok

Abstract

This research aimed to 1) study the quality of educational development plans, educational administration, wisdom, educational behavior, and the achievement of Buddhist schools; 2) study the influence of educational development plans, educational administration, wisdom, and educational behavior on the achievement of Buddhist schools; and 3) study the educational administration approach and the achievement of Buddhist schools in Bangkok. This research was a mixed quantitative and qualitative research. The quantitative research sampled 420 monks teaching morality and teaching personnel in the academic administration group and the social studies, religion, and culture group. The sample was stratified random sampling.
A questionnaire was used to collect data and the data was analyzed using structural equation modeling. For the qualitative research, in-depth interviews were conducted with 18 school directors and monks teaching morality in leading Buddhist schools in the Office of the Basic Education Commission, Region 2, Bangkok. The data was analyzed using content analysis.
The results of the research found that 1) educational administration, educational behavior, achievement of Buddhist schools, wisdom, and the quality of educational development plans had the highest opinions; 2) the quality of educational development plans had the highest causal influence on the achievement of Buddhist schools, followed by educational behavior. Wisdom, morality, and educational services, respectively. 3) The educational administration guidelines for the results of Buddhist schools in Bangkok are in the form of a diagram consisting of the quality of the educational development plan, which has the most overall influence, as the driving force at the bottom. Educational behavior and wisdom and morality are in the middle, and educational services are promoted at the top. In addition, the results of Buddhist schools in Bangkok must consist of knowledge, understanding, application, analysis, and synthesis. The research results are beneficial to agencies involved in educational administration at all levels. The resulting knowledge can be used to determine strategic issues, objectives, strategies, policies, plans, and projects or activities related to development leading to the educational results of Buddhist schools, which will be of maximum benefit to learners, consisting of knowledge, understanding, application, analysis, and synthesis.
