Abstract

This article aimed to 1) study the factors influencing the competitive advantage of frozen seafood businesses in Thailand, 2) analyze the causal relationships of the competitive advantage of frozen seafood businesses in Thailand, and 3) develop a strategic relationship model for enhancing the competitive advantage of frozen seafood businesses in Thailand. This study employed a quantitative research design. The sample consisted of 340 frozen seafood business entrepreneurs in Thailand. The instrument used for data collection was a questionnaire. The statistics used for data analysis included percentage, mean, standard deviation, and structural equation modeling. The results revealed that organizational resources, innovation capability, and government support influenced supply chain relationships and competitive advantage, while supply chain relationships influenced competitive advantage. The causal relationship model was consistent with the empirical data, with the goodness-of-fit indices as follows: χ² = 0.731, GFI = 0.957, CFI = 0.922, NFI = 0.983, RMSEA = 0.052, and RMR = 0.032. The developed strategic relationship model consisted of five components: organizational resources, innovation capability, government support, supply chain relationships, and competitive advantage. Organizational resources, innovation capability, and government support served as fundamental factors supporting supply chain relationships, which functioned as a linking mechanism leading to the enhancement of the competitive advantage of frozen seafood businesses in Thailand.
