The Development of CO-5STEPs Learning Activities Integrated with Online Lessons to Develop Practical Skills in Dance Terminology and Gesture Language of Grade 8 students at Thawatchaburi School
Main Article Content
Abstract
Learning management in dance education on dance terminology and gesture language requires knowledge, understanding, observation, and continuous practice. The use of an active learning process together with online lessons is therefore one approach that can increase opportunities for learners to practice and review lessons independently. This research aimed to 1) determine the efficiency of CO-5STEPs learning activities combined with online lessons according to the 75/75 criterion, 2) study dance performance skills compared with the 75 percent criterion, 3) study learning achievement before and after the learning activities, and 4) study learners’ satisfaction. This study employed pre-experimental research using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 35 Grade 8/5 students at Thawat Buri Wittayakhom School in the second semester of the 2025 academic year, selected by purposive sampling. The experiment was conducted over five weeks for a total of 10 hours. The research instruments consisted of CO-5STEPs learning activity plans combined with online lessons, a learning achievement test, a performance skills assessment form, and a satisfaction questionnaire. Data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, percentage, E1/E2 efficiency, and t-test. The findings revealed that 1) the learning activities had an efficiency of 75.80/87.24, meeting the specified 75/75 criterion; 2) the students had a mean performance skills score of 40.36 out of 50, equivalent to 80.72 percent, which was significantly higher than the 75 percent criterion (t = 4.90, p < .001); 3) the mean learning achievement score increased from 15.42 before learning to 23.84 after learning, an increase of 8.42 points or 28.07 percentage points; and 4) the learners’ overall satisfaction was at the highest level (X̄ = 4.57, S.D. = 0.50).
