ชื่อถนนในเขตเทศบาลนครพิษณุโลก: การศึกษาตามแนวภูมิทัศน์ภาษาศาสตร์ ชื่อถนนในเขตเทศบาลนครพิษณุโลก: การศึกษาตามแนวภูมิทัศน์ภาษาศาสตร์

บทคัดย่อ
ชื่อถนนในเขตเทศบาลนครพิษณุโลกมีลักษณะที่โดดเด่นเนื่องจากส่วนใหญ่เป็นพระนามของพระมหากษัตริย์และชื่อของบุคคลสำคัญในประวัติศาสตร์ไทย แต่ข้อมูลเชื่อมโยงความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างเมืองพิษณุโลกกับบุคคลสำคัญที่นำมาตั้งเป็นชื่อถนน รวมถึงที่มาของชื่อถนนที่ก่อสร้างขึ้นใหม่ในสมัยหลังยังมีไม่ครบถ้วน บทความวิจัยนี้จึงมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาที่มาของชื่อถนนในเขตเทศบาลนครพิษณุโลกในปัจจุบัน และวิเคราะห์การสื่อความหมายเชิงสัญลักษณ์ของชื่อถนนในเขตเทศบาลนครพิษณุโลกโดยใช้กรอบทฤษฎีภูมิทัศน์ภาษาศาสตร์ (Linguistic Landscape) เพื่อสะท้อนให้เห็นแนวคิดในการเลือกชื่อดังกล่าวมาตั้งเป็นชื่อถนนซึ่งอยู่ในพื้นที่สาธารณะ โดยเก็บรวบรวมชื่อถนนในเขตเทศบาลนครพิษณุโลกจากป้ายชื่อถนน เว็บไซต์ของจังหวัดพิษณุโลก เว็บไซต์การท่องเที่ยวจังหวัดพิษณุโลก เว็บไซต์แผนที่จังหวัดพิษณุโลก (Google Maps) และเอกสารสิ่งพิมพ์ต่าง ๆ รวมจำนวน 58 ชื่อ ผลการศึกษาพบว่าที่มาของชื่อถนนมาจาก 7 แหล่ง เรียงลำดับจากมากไปน้อย ได้แก่ ชื่อของชนชั้นปกครอง ชื่อหรือคำที่สื่อถึงผู้เกี่ยวข้องกับการสร้างถนนหรือผู้ใช้ถนนนั้นในการสัญจร ชื่อของสถานที่ ชื่อเกี่ยวกับพระพุทธศาสนา ชื่อของสัตว์ ชื่อของเครื่องใช้ และชื่อของโครงการภาครัฐ เมื่อศึกษาชื่อถนนตามกรอบทฤษฎีภูมิทัศน์ภาษาศาสตร์พบว่า ชื่อถนนสื่อความหมายเชิงสัญลักษณ์ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับพื้นที่เมืองพิษณุโลกในด้านประวัติศาสตร์ สังคมและวัฒนธรรม 7 ประการ ได้แก่ 1) สื่อถึงการให้ความสำคัญกับบุคคลที่เกี่ยวข้องกับประวัติศาสตร์เมืองพิษณุโลก 2) สื่อถึงการให้ความสำคัญกับทหารเอกของสมเด็จพระนเรศวรมหาราช 3) สื่อถึงการให้ความสำคัญกับการกระทำยุทธหัตถีของสมเด็จพระนเรศวรมหาราช 4) สื่อถึงความเป็นเมืองแห่งพระพุทธศาสนา 5) สื่อถึงการยกย่องประชาชนที่มอบที่ดินของตนเพื่อสร้างเป็นถนนสาธารณะหรือระลึกถึงผู้เกี่ยวข้องกับการสร้างถนนรวมถึงบุคคลสำคัญผู้เคยใช้ถนนนั้นในการสัญจร 6) สื่อถึงตำแหน่งสิ่งก่อสร้างสำคัญของเมืองทั้งในอดีตและในปัจจุบัน และ 7) สื่อถึงการบริหารงานของภาครัฐเพื่อใช้ประโยชน์จากที่ดิน นอกจากนี้ชื่อถนนยังมีความสัมพันธ์กับตำแหน่งของถนนในผังเมืองเขตเทศบาลนครพิษณุโลก กล่าวคือ ชื่อถนนที่มาจากพระนามของพระมหากษัตริย์ พระมเหสี และพระมหาอุปราช ส่วนใหญ่จะอยู่ในวงรัศมี 1 กิโลเมตรจากสถานีรถไฟพิษณุโลกและวงเวียนหอนาฬิกาซึ่งเป็นจุดศูนย์กลางของเมืองอันแสดงถึงการเคารพเทิดทูนสถาบันกษัตริย์ผู้ทรงมีบทบาทสำคัญต่อเมืองพิษณุโลก วงรัศมีถัดออกไปเป็นชื่อของขุนนาง ส่วนชื่อของสัตว์จะอยู่ไกลจากจุดศูนย์กลางของเมืองมากที่สุด ผลการศึกษาจึงแสดงให้เห็นว่าชื่อถนนในเขตเทศบาลนครพิษณุโลกทำหน้าที่เชิงสัญลักษณ์ในการสะท้อนแนวคิดการตั้งชื่อถนนที่เกี่ยวข้องสัมพันธ์กับเมืองพิษณุโลก รวมถึงแสดงให้เห็นอัตลักษณ์ของพิษณุโลกด้านความเป็นเมืองแห่งประวัติศาสตร์ผ่านภาษาในพื้นที่สาธารณะ
