Reverse of Power Relationship with Female Ghosts : A Case Study of Horror Film Series Ringu and Juon

Abstract
This study aims to investigate the content in horror film, namely Ringu series (1998 - ) directed by Hideo Nakata and Juon series (2000 - ) directed by Takashi Shimizu. The main study was analyzed on horror in the female ghosts. The result showed that the movies were affected from the Japanese’s daily life in 1990s - 2000s, in which women’s life was under in a male - dominated society. In horror films, female’s ghosts reverse power relationship with men. Thus, female’s ghosts had got threatening everyday life under Japanese masculine society.
