Author Guidelines
1. Preparing the article
The article to be considered for publication in the Journal should not be longer than 15 pages (A4) with standard page layout. The original copy must consist of three sections. The first section (first page) contains the name of the article, first and last name of the author, his/her affiliation, the abstract, keywords, and a footnote in the Thai language. The second section (second page) contains the same information as in section 1, but in English. The third section (from the third page onwards) is the main part of the article written in the standard order for article composition. The author should number the paragraphs from the preface to the conclusion using Arabic numerals in sequence. If there is a reference list or appendix, it should be attached at the end of the conclusion without being numbered. The reference list must comply with APA (American Psychological Association) format.
2. Presentation format
The article must be written using single-space format, and Th Sarabun PSK or Th Sarabun New must be used as the font type for both the Thai and English languages. The sizes of the fonts are as follows:
1. Name of the article: 18 point size (Thai or English), 12 point size (Japanese).
2. First and last name of author: 14 point in bold
3. Abstract: normal font, 14 point (maximum 10 lines).
4. Keywords: normal font, 14 point (maximum 5 words).
5. Headings: first level (i.e. 1.xxx, 5.xxx. reference list, and appendix), 18 point in bold, second level and so on (i.e. 1.1, 2.1.3), 14 point in bold.
6. Main content: normal font, 14 point.
7. Footnotes in the first and second pages: normal font, 10 point (there are 2 possible types of footnotes): a. *Information that the author wishes to add about the article such as acknowledgements. b. **Specifying academic titles or other titles of the author, an address, and an e-mail by following this format: Associate Professor (Dr.)….., Contact Address: ….., e-mail: …..
8. Footnotes in the main content: written in each page in normal 10 point font in Arabic number sequence.
9. Table: bold or normal font, not larger than 14 point (as suitable).
10. Reference list: normal font, 14 point.
11. Affiliation and corresponding e-mail: 14 point in italics
11. Appendix: normal font, 14 point.
12. Others: If Japanese characters are required, the author must select MS Mincho font. The size of the Japanese characters used generally in the main content is 10 point (same size as 14-point Th Sarabun PSK or Th Sarabun New characters). If Japanese characters appear in other parts of the article, their size should be adjusted to the most suitable size by following the aforementioned criteria.
3. Tables and figures
The author must place tables and figures in Arabic numerical sequence (i.e. Table 1, Figure 2) and specify the name of the table and figure after the number. The table title must be typed in the top row of the table. The title for the figure is placed directly below the figure. The font size in the table and figure should follow the aforementioned criteria and according to the suitability, appearance, and style of the content. The complete source of a table and figure must be included. If it is the work of the author, the source must be entered as “Calculated/written/ summarized by the author.”
4. References
Authors must prepare all in-text citations and references according to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (7th edition; APA 7), subject to the journal’s supplementary rules for Thai- and Japanese-language sources.
4.1 In-Text Citations
Use the author–date system.
- One author: (Smith, 2022) or Smith (2022)
- Two authors: (Smith & Jones, 2022) or Smith and Jones (2022)
- Three or more authors: (Smith et al., 2022) or Smith et al. (2022)
- Multiple sources: (Brown, 2020; Jones, 2021; Smith, 2022)
- Direct quotation: Include a page number, for example, (Smith, 2022, p. 25) or (Smith, 2022, pp. 25–27). If page numbers are unavailable, provide another suitable locator.
- Paraphrase: Include the author and year; a page number is optional.
- Same author and same year: Use letters after the year, such as 2022a and 2022b, in both the text and reference list.
For Thai- and Japanese-language sources, use author names and publication years consistently in citations and references. Follow the journal’s policy on original scripts and Romanization.
4.2 Reference-List Requirements
- Include every work cited in the manuscript, except sources that APA 7 excludes from the reference list, such as personal communications. Every reference-list entry must be cited in the text.
- Arrange references alphabetically according to the journal’s stated rules for English, Thai, and Japanese sources. List works by the same author chronologically, from earliest to latest.
- List up to 20 authors. For works with 21 or more authors, list the first 19 authors, insert an ellipsis, and then list the final author.
- Use sentence case for English book titles, article titles, and chapter titles. Preserve the original writing conventions of Thai and Japanese titles.
- Italicize book and report titles, journal titles, and journal volume numbers. Do not italicize journal article titles, chapter titles, or issue numbers.
- Include the publisher’s name but omit its location.
- Present DOIs as URLs (https://doi.org/xxxxx). Include a URL when appropriate if no DOI is available. Do not use “Retrieved from” unless a retrieval date is needed for content designed to change over time.
- Use a hanging indent and apply consistent spacing and punctuation.
- Verify names, titles, dates, page ranges, publishers, DOIs, and URLs against the original source whenever possible.
4.3 Thai- and Japanese-Language Sources
The journal permits references in Thai or Japanese original script. For English-language manuscripts, authors should provide Romanization and an English translation of the title in square brackets when necessary to help readers identify the source. The original title must not be replaced by an unofficial translation.
The journal must apply one consistent policy for Thai Buddhist Era (B.E.) dates and Common Era (C.E.) dates. For Japanese sources, preserve the original author names, titles, publication details, and numbering. Use the reference format that corresponds to the actual publication type.
5. Examples of References
