Environmental Management Guidelines for Green hotels in Khanom District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province

Abstract

This research aimed to 1) study and assess the readiness of hotels in Khanom District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, in order to implement the green accommodation benchmark. 2) determine environmental management guidelines for hotel business in Khanom District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province in accordance with the green accommodation benchmark. The population in this study was 17 hotels and resorts in Khanom District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. Purposive sampling is selected for hotels with more than 30 rooms, excluding other types of accommodation. The research tools were interview forms and questionnaires. The results found that the readiness of hotels in Khanom District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, in order to implement the green accommodation benchmark are at a low level. They have the highest readiness on environmental and energy management while having the lowest readiness on human resource development. Moreover, It also found that hotel business in Khanom District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province have overall business environmental management at a high level. The guideline for environmental and energy management has been developed the most, while the environmentally friendly procurement has the least development.
