Problem, Guidline and Proposed a Model for Upgrading the Economy and Integrated Sub-District Society in Agriculture (1 Sub-district, 1 University), Case Study of Tha Ngio Subdistrict, Mueang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, Thailand

Abstract

This qualitative research was based on a case study. The research aimed to study an integrated approach and to present for improving the economy and society in each sub-district in agriculture. Fifteen-family-farmers were selected as specific informants. The other three are government and private officials. The research tool was a structured interview, document analysis, and data presentation using descriptive analysis. The research showed that: (1) the agricultural community problem is that in the people in community have gained  agricultural knowledge from their ancestors and projects from the government, but they lack experience in Khok Nong Na mode and natural disasters such as floods, area conditions, insect pests, debt, and budget. (2) guidelines for upgrading the economy and society in each sub-district with integrated agriculture found that combined operation of both animal husbandry and mixed crops and joint administration by organizing a learning center for sufficiency economy for interested persons to learn and, co-ownership and commitment. (3) a model for upgrading the economy and integrated sub-district society in each sub-district in agriculture found that people in community gained more knowledge in agriculture, they were able to disseminate knowledge, there are variety of organic products, increase income, reduced debt, healthy, and to be a proud example of an agricultural family. The research could identify the results as the “4L” or “learn, love, list, and life,” learn more, love what they are doing, list good health habits, and live in a new normal way.
