The Development of Chinese Listening and Chinese Speaking skills of Grade 12 students by using Activity-Based Learning

Abstract

     The purposes of this research were 1) to compare Chinese Listening and Chinese Speaking skills of Grade 12 students between pre-study and post-study by using Activity-Based Learning and normal teaching, 2) to compare Chinese Listening and Chinese Speaking skills of Grade 12 students post-study between by using Activity-Based Learning and normal teaching. This research is quasi-experimental research. The sample was Grade 12 students who were studying 1st semester, the academic year 2023, in Promkiripittayakom School. The sample was selected using Cluster Random Sampling and the research instruments were 1) Chinese subject teaching plans using Activity-Based Learning, 2) Chinese subject teaching plans using normal teaching, 3) Chinese listening test, and 4) Chinese speaking test.
     The research results were found that 1) The Result of comparing Chinese listening and Chinese speaking skills of Grade 12 students after learning through Activity Based Learning was significantly higher than those before studying at the .01 level. 2) The result of comparing Chinese listening and Chinese speaking skills of Grade 12 students after learning through normal teaching showed differences with no statistical significance at the .01 level. 3) The result of comparing Chinese listening and Chinese speaking skills of Grade 12 students after learning through Activity-Based Learning was significantly higher than using normal teaching at the .01 level.
