The Model of Folk Wisdom Conservation on Participation in Lak Phra Bok Festival to Enhance the Local Culture Strength of Phipun District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province

Abstract

The research aims to study the situation of the conservation of folk wisdom of the participatory Lak Phra Bok. The value of folk wisdom of Lak Phra Bok (pulling of ceremonial Buddha image carriages) and to a model for preserving folk wisdom, participant Lak Phra Bok to strengthen the local culture of Phipun District. Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. It's a mixed methods research between quantitative and qualitative research. 3) Restoration provides for the preservation of wisdom close to the original form.


         The findings were: 1) Overall, it was a moderate level in terms of (1) research: There is no collection of knowledge and wisdom into categories. (2) conservation: Traditional events are held continuously. (4) The development of the Ruea Phra Bok has been developed to suit the modern age. (5) The transmission: There were observing, talking and taking action. (6) Promotion of activities: There is cooperation as a network in organizing traditional events. (7) The exchanging and publishing: Activities are disseminated through various media. (8)  strengthening the local philosophy: Promote and support the development of craftsmanship potential by sending Ruea Phra Bok to compete in competitions and (9) The participation of people in the community: People in the community participated in the festival the most.  2) The value of folk wisdom of Lak Phra Bok consists of two main aspects namely human development and social development. 3) The development of the model for conservation of folk wisdom, participatory Lak Phra Bok to strengthen local culture. The model was named "LAKPHRA Model", which is a learning process, knowledge management, management community involvement, solidarity, strengthening of local wisdom networks and appropriate activities.
