Relationship Reflection of Embroidery Local Wisdom Representing Cultural Identities of Tai Dam Ethnic Group in Don Mali Village, Suratthani Province

Abstract

     This research article aimed to analyze the characteristics of local wisdom relationships through the embroidery style of the Tai Dam ethnic group in Don Mali Village, Suratthani Province. It employs a qualitative research methodology and involves key informants, comprising 5 local scholars, knowledgeable individuals, and local wisdom, in the study of the Tai Dam ethnic group's embroidery. Data were collected by observation, interview, and document research and analyzed based on the content analysis. Then, the data was summarized in descriptive form.
     The research showed that the embroidery of the Tai Dam ethnic group in Don Mali Village, Suratthani Province, reflected the relationship of local wisdom through
the embroidering patterns in three ways: the relationship between humans and nature, the environment, plants, animals, humans, and the supernatural. These three relationship types affected the representation of cultural identities appearing in the designed and embroidered patterns of the Tai Dam ethnic group in Don Mali Village, Suratthani Province.
