The Perspectives on Higher Education Transition Among Secondary School Students in the Lower Northeastern Region of Thailand

Abstract

     The objective of this research aims to 1) study the perspectives on higher education transition among secondary school students in the lower northeastern region, and 2) to compare the perspectives on higher education transition among secondary school students in the lower northeastern region, classified by personal factors. The sample population was youth aged 15 years and up, not exceeding 18 years of age, in high school youth to graduate in the Northeastern Region (Ubon Ratchathani, Sisaket, Yasothon, and Amnat Charoen Provinces), a total of 400 people by simple random sampling. The tool used for data collection was a questionnaire with a reliability of .90. Statistics that were used in this research were descriptive statistics such as percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, and ANOVA.


     The research found that 1) the perspectives on higher education transition among secondary school students in the lower northeastern region in university image and innovation, instructors, and society were high level. and 2) comparing the perspectives on higher education transition among secondary school students in the lower northeastern region classified by program study, school, and income were significant, and gender, occupation, and location of school were not significant at the 0.05 level.
