An Analysis of Thai Language Instruction Models Integrating Local Identity of the Pre-Service Teachers of the Thai Language Program

Abstract

     This research aimed to analyze Thai language instruction models integrating the local identity of the pre-service teachers of the Thai language program by collecting and analyzing data from research reports and classroom observations. The target group was 28 pre-service teachers of the Thai language program in educational institutions in the second semester of the 2023 academic year, using a specific selection method. The research was conducted a using qualitative research methodology and presented descriptive analysis. The research tools were 1) the document analysis form and 2) the classroom observation record form. Data were analyzed by content analysis and percentage statistics.
     The research results found that there were 3 models of integrated Thai language learning management: 1) intradisciplinary, with 3 methods, ranked from most to least: (1) fragmented method, (2) connected method, and (3) nested method; 2) interdisciplinary, with 1 method: sequenced method; and 3) transdisciplinary, with 2 methods: (1) immersed method and (2) networked method.
