The Effects of STEM Learning Management Based on the Engineering Design Process Integrated with Local Wisdom on the Creativity of Border Patrol Police School Students

Abstract

     This research aimed  to 1) develop the creativity of  Grade 5 students at the Border Patrol Police School who received STEM learning management based on the engineering design process integrated with local wisdom; and 2) develop the engineering design process skills of grade 5 students at the Border Patrol Police School who received STEM learning management based on the engineering design process integrated with local wisdom.  The target group consisted of 39 Grade 5 students at the Border Patrol Police School during the first semester of the 2024 academic year, with the inclusion criterion that all participants were currently enrolled in Grade 5.   The research instruments included  STEM learning management plans based on the integrated engineering design process integrated with  local wisdom, a creativity evaluation form, and an engineering design process assessment  form. The data were analyzed using mean and standard deviation.  The results of this research indicated that; 1) The creativity of the Grade 5 students at the Border Patrol Police School was at a high level;   and 2) the engineering design process skills of Grade 5 students at the Border Patrol Police School were also at a high level.
