Guidelines for Developing Local Festivals Using the Local Culture of the Lao Wiang Community in Ban Lueak Subdistrict, Photharam District, Ratchaburi Province

Abstract
This article aims to 1) investigate the local culture, potential, and readiness of the Lao Wiang community in Ban Lueak Subdistrict, Photharam District, Ratchaburi Province, 2) develop a local festival using the local culture of the Lao Wiang community in Ban Lueak Subdistrict, Photharam District, Ratchaburi Province, and 3) propose guidelines for developing a local festival using the local culture of the Lao Wiang community in Ban Lueak Subdistrict, Photharam District, Ratchaburi Province. A mixed method was employed. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and focus group discussions with 30 key informants, including community leaders and local elders. Analyze data using item analysis and content analysis techniques. A questionnaire was used to survey the satisfaction of 372 festival participants. Data were analyzed using means and standard deviations.
The research findings are revealed 1) The Lao Wiang Ban Luek community has a unique and strong cultural tradition and has sufficient potential to promote local festivals, 2) the development of local festivals using the Lao Wiang Ban Luek culture as a base has received satisfactory feedback from participants and the Lao Wiang network. However, there are problems and obstacles in the operation that need to be resolved, and 3) organizing a local festival using the basic culture of the Lao Wiang community leads to the development of the festival through the "PLOT" strategy, which includes Partners (network partners), Localize (local participation), Organize (good management), and Traditional (unique culture).
