Abstract

The research entitled “The Development of Public-Mindedness in Grade 2 Students Using Storytelling Podcast Series” aimed to: 1) develop and evaluate the quality of the podcast storytelling series "Khuan Puan Mueang", and 2) study the development of public-mindedness in Grade 2 students before and after implementing learning management using the podcast storytelling series. The research sample consisted of 34 Grade 2/2 students enrolled in the second semester of the 2025 academic year at Ramkhamhaeng University Demonstration School, Bangna Campus, selected through cluster random sampling. This study employed an Action Research design and a pre-experimental design. The research instruments were categorized into two types: experimental instruments, which included 8 units based on the podcast stories; and data collection instruments, which comprised a public-mindedness characteristics assessment form. Data were analyzed using mean, percentage, standard deviation, and a dependent t-test.
The results of the study are as follows: 1) the quality evaluation of the podcast story series showed that all learning units achieved high appropriateness, with mean scores ranging from 4.50 to 5.00 (Very Appropriate; 2) the pre-intervention mean score for the Grade 2 students' desired characteristics regarding public-mindedness across all four dimensions was 76.70 (S.D. = 8.61), whereas the post-intervention mean score reached 94.17 (S.D. = 2.22). The t-test value was 12.44, demonstrating that students' public-mindedness after learning through the podcast story series was statistically significantly higher than before the intervention at the .05 level.
