Factors Influencing Life and Career Skills of Students in the Second Educational Level (Grades 4–6) in Small-Sized Schools, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province

Abstract
This predictive research aimed to analyze the factors influencing life and career skills among Grade 4–6 students in small-sized schools in Mueang Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. The sample consisted of 178 students selected using systematic random sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire covering school factors, student factors, and life and career skills. Three experts assessed content validity, with item-objective congruence (IOC) values ranging from 0.67 to 1.00. Reliability was examined using Cronbach’s alpha coefficients, yielding values of 0.84 for teacher-related factors, 0.87 for teacher–student relationships, 0.82 for the school environment, 0.75 for student factors, and 0.92 for life and career skills. Data were analyzed using percentages, mean, standard deviation, and stepwise multiple regression analysis.
The findings revealed that overall school factors were at a high level (M = 4.36, S.D. = 0.61). When considered by individual dimensions, all dimensions were at a high level, with teacher-related factors having the highest mean (M = 4.40, S.D. = 0.61), followed by the school environment (M = 4.37, S.D. = 0.64) and teacher–student relationships (M = 4.32, S.D. = 0.72). Regarding student factors, learning motivation was also high (M = 4.03, S.D. = 0.68). Overall, students’ life and career skills were at a high level (M = 4.24, S.D. = 0.62). The factors significantly influencing students’ life and career skills were teacher–student relationships, student factors, teacher-related factors, male gender, and the school environment. Collectively, these factors accounted for 86.90% of the variance in students’ life and career skills (adjusted R² = 0.869).
