พื้นที่วัฒนธรรมของแรงงานข้ามชาติชาวพม่าในจังหวัดสุราษฎร์ธานี

บทคัดย่อ
งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาการประกอบสร้างพื้นที่วัฒนธรรมและอัตลักษณ์ด้านศาสนาและความเชื่อของแรงงานข้ามชาติชาวพม่าในจังหวัดสุราษฎร์ธานี ใช้ระเบียบวิธีการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ เก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลจากเอกสารและเก็บข้อมูลภาคสนาม กลุ่มผู้ให้ข้อมูลประกอบด้วยแรงงานข้ามชาติชาวพม่า ผู้เชี่ยวชาญ และผู้ให้ข้อมูลทั่วไป จำนวน 55 คน ใช้วิธีการเลือกผู้ให้ข้อมูลแบบเจาะจง (Purposive) และนำเสนอผลการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยวิธีการพรรณนาวิเคราะห์ (Descriptive Analysis) ผลการวิจัยพบว่า ประการแรก แรงงานข้ามชาติชาวพม่าประกอบสร้างพื้นที่วัฒนธรรมขึ้นในจังหวัด สุราษฎร์ธานี 4 ด้าน 1) ด้านอาชีพ 2) ด้านศาสนาและความเชื่อ 3) ด้านนันทนาการและ 4) ด้านการสร้างเครือข่าย ประการที่สอง แรงงานข้ามชาติชาวพม่าแสดงอัตลักษณ์ด้านศาสนาและความเชื่อใน 4 ลักษณะได้แก่ 1) สร้างเจดีย์สถาปัตยกรรมแบบพม่า 2) ทำบุญ 3) นับถือนัต และ 4) แต่งกายแบบชาวพม่า การสร้างพื้นที่วัฒนธรรมและแสดงอัตลักษณ์ความเป็นพม่าดังกล่าวเป็นการรักษาและสืบสานเพื่อการดำรงไว้ซึ่งความเป็นชาวพม่าในพื้นที่ข้ามแดน
