บทคัดย่อ

This study aims tostudy and analyze the activities to promote reading of the public library in Nakhon Si Thammarat and create a form of activities to promote reading of the public library in Nakhon Si Thammarat. It is a qualitative approach. The field data was collected by interview froma group of 45 related people and a small group discussion along with studying the documents about the operating manual and academic publications. The results of the study revealed that: 1. public library reading promotion activities has carried out activities to promote reading as follows:  1.1 the activities that respond to the policies of the parent agency, such as supporting the teaching and learning of the NSO students, 1.2 the activities that respond to the policies of national administrators, provinces and districts such as community book house activities, market mobile library, reading promotion in child development centers and mobile libraries, and 1.3 the activities caused by the cooperation of personnel within the agency to organize activities to promote learning, such as activities to promote reading with network partners and volunteer librarian activities. 2. the format of the reading promotion activities of the public library in Nakhon Si Thammarat province.  The results of research findings were integrated from the first objective with the synthesis of academic publication concerning reading promotion activities of both prominent national and international public libraries and to create a form of reading promotion activities suitable for public libraries in Nakhon Si Thammarat province for using as a guideline as follows: 2.1 activities underthe policy of the Office of Non-formal and Informal Education, 2.2 organizing activities according to the mission of the public library, 2.3 organizing activities to promote reading according to the theory of reading promotion, 2.4 organizing activities to promote proactive reading, 2.5 applying technology and innovations to promote reading activities, and 2.6 to create factors supporting reading promotion activities.
