4 Years of Khon Kaen Young Smart Farmer

Abstract
At present, “Thailand 4.0” is the target of an economic development of the country strategically focusing on five major industries, one among those is the agro-industries on food processing and bio-technology. This policy, of course, is respectfully observing the “Sufficiency Economy Phylosophy” initiated by the late king Bhumibol Adulyadej.
In order to implement such policy, the government has to develop general farmers to be “smart farmers” under the project of developing new generation to be “Young Smart Farmers-YSF” all over the country in 2014, in hope that they will be “Smart Farmers” in the future. Khon Kaen is selected as strategic area in this regard to be developed as a logistic hub and innovation based on food and agriculture.
The outcome of this project was witnessed by the network connecting among farmers, the learning process on life program and income account development. Over on it could say that the objective of the project was fulfilled but efficiency of four aspects need to be improved namely, (1) legislation to contribute and support the project implementations, (2) knowledge body brought out of the research on specific areas, (3) hiring expert to transfer such knowledge, and (4) the assessment on quality management.
