Abstract
The research on the quality of life upgrading via the cultural capital: a case study of the Sob Som - Hat Krai Old Town, Chiang Khong district, Chiang Rai province aimed to investigate the cultural capital and propose the adaptation of cultural capital to upgrade the quality of life of people in the Sob Som-Hat Krai Old Town, Chiang Khong district, Chiang Rai. Using qualitative research methods.
The findings illustrated that the Sob Som-Hat Krai Old Townin the Chiang Khong district of Chiang Rai was developed from the source of occupation along the Khong River. Its cultural capitals includes traditional elements and some were invented lately. Therefore, community participation promotion and support were required, such as the development of tourist sites and local product development to enhance community tourism, which will upgrade the people's quality of life through the cultural capital
