Knowledge & Knowledge Space in The Network of New Actors in Education: The Case of insKru
Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper aims to present the practices of a network of new actors in educational field in Thai society, using the case of 'insKru,' a social enterprise in education, as an example. Employing the concept of knowledge space, insKru and its network is implied as a social space where people interact through various complex actions. This open space is where diverse knowledge sets from different disciplines and perspectives intersect, are negotiated, or are integrated. The research applied qualitative methodologies, revealing that insKru aims to create an alternative professional learning community based on teachers' experiences.
Additionally, insKru employs three core concepts of teaching development: critical thinking, creative thinking, and maintaining a student-friendly environment. This space, being participation-based and highly active on digital platforms, has created a countrywide learning community with no restrictions on time or space. Importantly, it is highly responsive to teachers' demands and sensitive to the emotional experiences of both teachers and learners. These findings suggest that insKru and its network have the potential to play a significant role in creating a highly dynamic knowledge construction space in the education field. Although initially heterodox, insKru and its network may move toward more mainstream activities by scaling up.
