Student’s opinions toward the topic “Green Living at KMUTT” through Man and Ethics for Living Course

Abstract
The purposes of this research are 1) to exlore a student’s opinions toward guidelines and practices for Green Living and 2) to analyze the relevance between the student’s opinions and King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT)’s Green University policy. The population of this study was 1,308 students who enrolled in GEN111 Man and Ethics of Living in the 1st semester of year 2015.
Then the students were divided into 132 groups for brainstorming in the topic of “Guidelines and Practices for Green Living” before doing
content analysis the relevance between the student’s opinions and Green University Policy. The results of this research are as follow: 1) the top 3 ranking of student’s opinions toward guidelines and practices for Green Living are the walking and cycling replacing of car or motorcycle use (85.61%), the increase of green landscape through tree planting, reforestation, mangrove forestation or prohibition on deforestation (84.85%), and waste sorting (79.55%), respectively and 2) the student’s opinions were coherent to 6 aspects of KMUTT’s green university policy: green infrastructure, energy and climate change, waste management, water, transportation, and education & learning.
