Work and Lifestyle of the Three Generations: A case Study of Government Teachers and Education Officers

Abstract
Research questions of this study are 1) how are the work and lifestyle of Baby Boomer, generation X, and generation Y who are government teachers and education officers? and 2) how are work and lifestyle among Baby Boomer, generation X, and generation Y who are government teachers and education officers different?. Participants of this research are 287 government teachers and education officers and questionnaire was used to collect data. The research results show that 1) the three highest average of work and lifestyle of the Baby Boomer are the respect for rules and regulations, high tolerance, and creativity, 2) the three highest average of work and lifestyle of the generation X are work-life balance orientation, open mindedness and creativity and 3) the three highest average of work and lifestyle of the generation Y are social media consumption, freedom of thought and creativity, and using IT devices in work daily life. Moreover, there is statistically significant difference of work and lifestyle among the Baby Boomer, generation X, and generation Y.
