BAAN MAN KONG: "A housing program which go beyond houses"

Abstract

The Baan Man Kong Project is assigned by the government to the Community Organization Development Institute (public organization). In this respect, the Baan Man Kong office is responsible to achieve the goal that is to resolve housing problems concerning with the urban impoverished around the country by establishing the physical, economical, and social security. This includes issues involving land acquisition, the improvement of the public utility system, local environment, and housing that coincides with local ways of living, as well as strengthening the community's self-management. Not only are these are nationally acceptable implementations in the sphere of housing-problem management, but they are also internal models designed for city-wide upgrading, which possibly be the answers for the Sustainable Development Goals: SDGs and urban agenda.
