Abstract

This article is aimed for understanding and criticizing concepts of socialism as a social ideology used to describe the fairness and equality of humans in Western societies in the 19th century. By dividing the important content into 3 parts which are 1) Socialist concepts that are philosophical principles that describe the ideology of social equality. 2) Socialist concepts that have influenced gay activists in demanding gender and sexual equality. 3) Socialist concepts and philosophical paradigm changes. These three sections will help to see contributions, solutions and limitations in explaining equality, justice, and human dignity which is very powerful during the times when society faces problems of class conflict, poverty, gender differences and the growing social gap that is widened by the power and knowledge of capitalism.
