Motivating the Knowledge Management of Self-Employed Persons with Physical Disability: Some Remarks on Field Research Data

Abstract
This academic article is the remarks on data collection of the field research, “Factors Related to Career Success of Persons with Disabilities Who Are Self-Employed”. The purpose of this article was to analyze the motivation used for knowledge management of self-employed persons with disabilities who succeeded in their business on their own way and definition. Data analysis and notice were from the research results that used an in-depth interview. The interview guidelines were prepared in advance. Also, the snowball technique was used to randomly select the sample that consisted of 13 participants who had mobility impairments from central of Thailand. Then the data of 8 people were compiled to present in this article. From the interview analysis that appeared in this research reflected that persons with disabilities, who were self-employed and successful, almost had concept and guideline related to psychology focused on motivation that drove them to perform the behavior of knowledge management efficiently. Therefore, motivation for knowledge management is composed of 4 components: 1) motivation for knowledge share and exchange, 2) motivation for knowledge access, 3) motivation for learning, and 4) motivation for knowledge application.
